Our Story

~ TASTE OF MULAN ~

Where traditional Chinese cuisine meets modern flair. Our restaurant is the latest endeavor of Chef Yang, who has a legendary cooking journey in China, Japan and United States. Chef Yang’s illustrious career began with an auspicious start in the early 1990s. When his teacher, Master Chef Chen, fell ill and was unable to cook for a private party hosted by the Japanese Council General, Chef Yang was sent in his place. Little did he know that this opportunity would launch him into a remarkable journey as a chef.

The guest of honor at the party was Yang Zhenya, then Chinese Ambassador to Japan, who was so impressed with Chef Yang's culinary skills that he invited him to be his private chef in Japan. Before embarking on this adventure, Chef Yang trained in Beijing and Szechuan to master various local cuisines. He also received training in Japanese cuisine while working at Prince Restaurant in Japan. His talent and dedication earned him an exchange program to the United States, where he has been sharing his expertise since 2002.

At Taste of Mulan, we offer a diverse range of Chinese dishes, including dim sum, Peking Duck, sizzling plates, and stir fries. Chef Yang takes an inventive approach to traditional recipes, infusing them with his own unique style while preserving the authentic flavors and essence of each dish. Using only the freshest, high-quality ingredients and without adding MSG, Chef Yang creates visually stunning dishes that delight both the palate and the eyes.
